Polycarboxylic Acid Superplasticizer Powder


1. The main functions of polycarboxylic acid superplasticizer powder:
(1) Reduce the amount of water, so as to reduce the water-binder ratio and improve the liquidity of the product.
Water-binder ratio: Ratio of water to cementitious material.
Cementing materials: cement, gypsum, fly ash, mineral powder, microbeads, silica fume and so on are cementing materials.
For example: 300g cement with 120g water, can have 200mm fluidity.
If you add the right amount of polycarboxylic acid superplasticizer powder, 300g cement only needs to add 80g water, you can have 200mm fluidity.
(2) improve the intensity.
Explanation: can improve the strength is because the special mortar to add polycarboxylic acid superplastifier powder, the required water consumption will be greatly reduced, the less water, special mortar internal more compact, more dense, thus improving the strength of the product.


The main advantages of polycarboxylic acid superplasticizer powder:

Common polycarboxylic acid superplasticizer powder types on the market:
(1) high water-reducing polycarboxylic acid superplasticizer powder
Explanation: the water reduction rate is very high, the maintenance performance is general.
Two models, PC1701 and PC570, belong to this class. (Cement and gypsum are applicable)
(2) high plastic retention type polycarboxylic acid water reducer powder (also known as high retention type, high retention type)
Explanation: high retention performance, water reduction rate is general.
This model PC530 belongs to this class (for cement only)
High plasticity retention, high retention, high collapse retention: refers to the addition of this kind of polycarboxylic acid water reducer powder, the fluidity of special mortar after half an hour compared with the completion of just mixing, the fluidity will be greatly improved.
For example: add 0.2g PC530 to 300g cement, and then add 80g water. After stirring, the initial fluidity is 200mm. After stirring again for half an hour, the fluidity will increase to 260mm.
However, if the high-water-reducing polycarboxylic acid superplasticizer powder is added, the initial fluidity is 200mm, and the fluidity will drop to 170mm after half an hour.
The water reduction rate of PC1701, PC570 and PC530 powder was about 35%, 40% and 33% respectively.
