Hydroxyethyl cellulose is a non-ionic cellulose ether prepared by a series of etherification reactions between basic cellulose and ethylene oxide (or chloroethanol).
Hydroxyethyl cellulose is an odorless, tasteless, non-toxic white or light yellow powder that can be dissolved in cold water to form a transparent viscous solution with thickening, adhesion, dispersion, emulsification, film formation, suspension, adsorption, surface activity, salt resistance, moisture retention and colloid protection properties.Hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) can be used in building materials, coating industry, petrochemical, synthetic resin, ceramic industry, medicine, food, textile, agriculture, cosmetics, tobacco, printing ink, paper and other industries.
Application fields:
1, hydroxyethyl cellulose can be dissolved in hot or cold water, high temperature or boiling without precipitation, so that it has a wide range of solubility and viscosity characteristics and non-thermal gel.
2, its non-ionic type can coexist with a wide range of other water-soluble polymers, surfactants, salts, is a high concentration of electrolyte solution of an excellent colloid thickener.
3, water retention capacity is twice higher than methyl cellulose, with better flow regulation.
4, the viscosity is stable, anti mildew, and the coating has a better can-opening effect, the construction has a better leveling performance.
